Apple Unveils New 14-Inch MacBook Pro with M5 Chip

Apple has officially unveiled the new 14-inch MacBook Pro, powered by the advanced M5 chip, marking a significant step forward in performance and AI capabilities. The M5 chip brings up to 3.5 times faster AI performance and 1.6 times faster graphics compared to its predecessor, enhancing everything from professional workflows to gaming.

Performance Upgrades with the M5 Chip

The M5 chip integrates a next-generation 10-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator embedded in each core, delivering exceptional graphics and AI processing power. It features a 10-core CPU that offers up to 20% faster multithreaded performance over the M4 chip. Additionally, the new MacBook Pro supports up to 4TB of SSD storage — doubling the previous limit — and offers 2x faster SSD speeds. With 153GB/s memory bandwidth, it surpasses the M4’s 120GB/s, enabling smoother multitasking and faster app launches.

Enhanced User Experience and Battery Life

Beyond raw power, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 ensures phenomenal battery life, lasting up to 24 hours on a single charge, making it ideal for professionals on the move. The device also includes a 12MP Center Stage webcam and supports Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless connectivity. Available in Silver and Space Black, the laptop maintains the same sleek dimensions and 3.4-pound weight as previous models.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 is available for pre-order now, starting at $1,599 for the base configuration with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, and will ship starting October 22, 2025. Higher-end MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are expected in early 2026.
